Starting in the back of a station wagon, they delivered to a small list of restaurants, farm stands, and farmers markets. Then demand increased, and the team purchased their first refrigerated box truck. Realizing that this new platform could be an asset to other farmers, Three River expanded to become a sales platform and distribution network for other farmers and food producers in the area. With the onset of COVID-19 in early 2020, Three River adapted again, creating a direct-to-consumer home delivery service from scratch in the span of two weeks.
What not so long ago was just a station wagon and a handful of farms is now a growing aggregate food hub supporting over 50 farms and food producers working together to supply homes, restaurants, stores and other institutions in the greater New Hampshire Seacoast region, southern Maine and the North Shore of Massachusetts.
