Practices
The well being of our cows and land is our number one priority. It takes happy, healthy cows to produce high quality milk, and like the generations before us, we strive to improve the land for future generations.

Every two weeks we meet with our vet and our cow’s nutritionist to check on the quality of our feed and the health of our cows.

About Us
In 2012, we began our first year farming in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. We are leasing a scenic patch of rolling pastures and woodlands along the Salmon Falls River. We are committed to providing fresh produce and wholesome dairy products to the Seacoast region and farming sustainably. We abide by organic practices and treat our animals with respect while they are in our care. Thank you for your support and come by for a visit! It’s always worth seeing the animals out on pasture and driving down Sligo Road.

Brandmoore Farm leases 220 acres of certified organic pasture and grow a 4 acre garden. The area around the farm–originally called Sligo after Sligo, Ireland–was home to some of the first settlements in New Hampshire. Sligo survives as the name of the road along which the farm stretches for the better part of a mile. The land was purchased by the Aikman family in the early part of the 20th century, who operated the farm as both a beef and dairy farm at different times through the years. To ensure its future as a scenic, agricultural property, the land has been placed under conservation easement with the Strafford County Conservation District. Phil and Becky began leasing the land from Robin Aikman beginning in 2012.

It is important to us that the farm is an inviting place for customers and the community. We will do our best to keep the farm clean (farming is a dirty business) and in good repair. All are welcome and encouraged to visit.

Practices
Bell & Goose Cheese is made in small batches so that each cheese receives the attention needed for real quality and flavor. We use local milk from a small family-run dairy who produces beautiful milk from their well tended herd of Jersey cows. Sourcing fresh clean milk from loved and healthy cows is top priority. Most of the cheeses are pasteurized but we sometimes have batches of raw milk aged cheese. We use calf rennet in most of our cheeses but have a couple made with thistle rennet- those usually have thistle in the name. We test all of the milk we use for antibiotics, as required by law. We take food safety very seriously, we meet and exceed the requirements for cheese production in NH and continually attend food science and safety trainings to keep up on the latest best practices. We are inspected and licensed by the state.

Here’s a little of the backstory on the brands we’re currently offering –

Ruth’s Mustard – a family based business from Charlestown, NH whose flavors are all inspired by Grandma Ruth’s original recipe. Ruth loved to feed her family and help those in need, so 10% of all profits go to “feed the need of others” in her honor.

Winnipesaukee Woods Farm – a certified organic farm in the Lakes Region where they recognize that there are many jars on the shelf, but it’s what’s inside and how it got there that makes their products different. By collaborating with other Lakes Region farms and businesses, their products are focused on quality, flavor and building community. Try one today and enjoy the taste of fresh, real local food!

Our Local Table – is Genuine Local’s house brand and reflects the variety of tastes and flavors that we have come to love over the years. While there is a wide range to choose from, you can count on each one to provide amazing flavor, unique twists on familiar favorites and a commitment to making delicious food naturally.

Wood Stove Kitchen – delicious, unique drink mixes that are made with 100% natural ingredients from farms in New England and beyond. We make it simple to enjoy mulled wine, spiced apple cider, hot toddies or distinctive cocktails and mocktails.

Explorer Food and Travel – offering an original line of seasonings, dressings and sauces. Products are a creative combination of unique ingredients that will give food an authentic Asian flavoring formulated for the health conscious in mind. In time Explorer Food and Travel will be expanding its products selection and offering guided international excursions.
